Interview with Tony Havoc - Flesh and The Devil
Dear readers, I recently interviewed Tony Havoc the drummer of Flesh and The Devil (Ex Scarlet's Remains, Fear Cult, Voodoo Church)
As a novice drummer, I was interested in hearing Toni's advice and answers on some of my questions. I hope you enjoy it!

Alex: It's a great pleasure for me to be interviewing you, let's start with a brief introduction for our readers that might be off track. 
Tony: Hello, I'm Tony and I play drums in Flesh and the Devil.
Alex: Could you tell us about your journey from Scarlet Remains to Flesh and The Devil?
Tony: After Scarlet's Remains broke up there was a couple projects that where started up but didn't really last for me. There was Disco Hospital, The Readership Hostile and Deathstrip. But, Flesh and the Devil has been going strong for over a year now and we plan to stick around for a while.
Alex: Which band did you like playing in the most?
Tony: I like them all for different reasons. Fearcult was so much fun to be in because everyone in the band was really fun to be around. Voodoo Church was amazing because it felt like a family. Scarlet's Remains meant a lot to me. That band was my baby. I started it in 2004 and wrote most of the songs. But by far, Flesh and the Devil has been my favorite band to play in. Everyone gets along so well and we all have a very strong connection to each other musically.
Alex: What drew you to play drums? How did it go as you were learning to play them?
Tony: I actually wanted to play guitar when I was a kid but my Dad suggested I try the drums and I fell in love with them. I would play everyday after school for hours either alone or with my first punk band.
Alex: What inspired you to play in this specific genre?
Tony: I was drawn to this genre. It called me.
Alex: Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones?
6. Siouxsie and the Banshees The Scream, Christian Death Only Theatre of Pain, The Exploited Horror Epics, The Damned Damned, Damned, Damned, Dead Boys Night of the living Dead Boys, Lords of the New Church Is Nothing Sacred? I could go on and on and on!
Alex: Who are your favorite musicians? Groups?
Tony: That's a really hard one to answer. I love so many different kinds of music that I'm not sure how to answer this one.
Alex: What do you do aside from playing music?
Tony: I spend most of my time with my daughter. She and music are my love and interest.
Alex: What were your best and worst shows?
Tony: I'm not sure if I've ever had a bad show. I just love performing on stage so much that I enjoy all the shows. My favorite show of all time was with Voodoo Church at WGT in 2005.That was an amazing show!
Alex: Being in the scene for a really long time, could you tell us how the scene has changed over the time? And what do you think of the current Goth/Deathrock scene?
Tony: I guess just like anything else it changes and evolves. There are always the new faces with the old ones. One of the best things about the scene is that it's always stayed a pretty peaceful scene and there are always new amazing bands starting up all over the place too!
Alex: Do you have a family? How do they react to your activity?
Tony: My family has always been very supportive of me and my activities. I've been very lucky with that.
Alex: Do you have any tips for beginner drummers?
Tony: Don't give up. It can be very frustrating at first but it will come to you. If you're taking lessons, listen to your teacher. I'm a self taught drummer, so I never had any lessons. I just
know this is what I wanted to do and stayed with it.
